END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP!!

This is an idea from the 1800s that anyone born on United States soil is automatically a citizen. Other countries do not do this! You have to be born of a citizen to be a citizen. I think ending this practice will basically solve one of the biggest immigration issues we have. The practice of illegal imigrant coming here to have children (aka anchor babies) so that they can stay in this country. Just something to think ...more »

ELMINATE VETERAN TRAVEL PAY SYSTEM

Hundreds of thousands of dollars are wasted each month to pay veterans for coming to their medical appointments. This leads to many veterans falsifying their addresses to increase the amount of money they will receive and making daily, unnecessary healthcare appointments for the sole purpose of receiving pay. The latter seriously and needlessly overburdens our healthcare system leading to the need for more staff, which ...more »

Use any Travel Service

Allow staff to schedule travel through any source. As long as policy is followed, utilizing multi-search travel websites can greatly save on travel costs (e.g. hotels, airfare, rental cars).

Mandate that this site be uttilized

Mandate that the top 100 ideas at a minimum are forwarded to the involved agency executive for review and comment. There are an extensive amount of valuable ideas here that may not score number one. It would be tremendous waste of effort if those below number one were not reviewed for consideration. We all have an idea or two here, we all put effort into this, what a waste if the ideas were simply deleted. Mandate that ...more »

We buy computers from Dell. Each computer comes with a license from Microsoft. (Sticker with license key) We then buy an Enterprise license to install Windows (any version) on that computer. Dell sells computers without Windows. We can buy our computers without Microsoft licenses, and then install our Enterprise software. (Volume Licensing) We never use the preinstalled version, and we never use the license key we pay ...more »

A number of employees are sent around the globe to attend topic-specific conferences, meetings, etc. I propose we invest in partnering with these major conferences to implement video conferencing, interactive sessions, etc. Many organizations have adopted virtual meetings such as the distance education institutions allowing them to conduct classes with students around the globe. It would greatly save the government ...more »

CONGRESS Should be in a Virtual environment; SAVE on commuting

A lot of tax dollars are spent on funding trips (lodging, private planes, cars, meals) for "the representatives of the people"; Congress. Instead of members of Congress going to Washington for three days a week, why not devise a system that will allow them to submit their arguments and vote from their local offices in their States. I know that tradition dictates that they should come together and have a "meeting of the ...more »

Send Training to Trainees, Not Vice Versa

I recently went to a training session at a cost of several thousand dollars per person, and the training was still in the development stages. I believe huge efficiencies and savings (both personal and monetarily) could have been realized if the quick reference guide, or DVD, or another method was simply sent to me with no personal travel involved. In this solitary case, millions of dollars could have been saved.
