UNEMPLOYMENT = COMMUNITY SERVICE

If we are going to pay people who are unemployed, why don't we get some work out of them!? If nothing else, maybe there can be a minimum amount of community service required to collect these benifits! Stop Paying Twice for Windows

We buy computers from Dell. Each computer comes with a license from Microsoft. (Sticker with license key) We then buy an Enterprise license to install Windows (any version) on that computer. Dell sells computers without Windows. We can buy our computers without Microsoft licenses, and then install our Enterprise software. Save billions by using military instead of contractors

The Government pays contractors billions of dollars to do installation projects that could be accomplaished by assets that are already in place! I work in the Telecommunications field and have deployed twice to Iraq and Afghanistan to install communications on bases there. I also went to Iraq for 1 year as a contractor. Every new mandatory training further saps the workforce productivity, and indiscriminately wastes more and more total effort. Send Training to Trainees, Not Vice Versa

I recently went to a training session at a cost of several thousand dollars per person, and the training was still in the development stages. I believe huge efficiencies and savings (both personal and monetarily) could have been realized if the quick reference guide, or DVD, or another method was simply sent to me with no personal travel involved. In this solitary case, millions of dollars could have been saved.

get un/under-employed working to increase the tax base

Save money by paying down the debt, and don't let default happen (or else interest rates rise, and the US debt will crush us!). The equation is taxes on income are source of funding for Govt. Reduce Irrelevant Training! and get back to work.

We waste thousands of hours and dollars on training that is not relevant to the employee and not relevant to the program. Some of these classes are repeated over and over again, every year. Almost every Agency, Bureau and Office is paying for one--if not several--technology platforms to deliver online learning courses. Consolidate AF Inspections

Consolidate AF inspections (UCI, LCAP, ORI, MCCI) into 1 inspection and have 1-POC for the inspections. Also, many inspections (ORIs) are obsolete (cold war era thinking). These serve no purpose other than to have MAJCOMs and Wing Commanders get a "warm-fuzzy" that their folks could survive if a ficticious cold war were to happen.

Savings on Training

The cost of training each and every employee is extremely high and I believe that there is a better, more cost efficient way of doing things. Currently, the Government sends each employee to their required training, paying for their flight, hotel and per diem. For a two week course, this can easily be $5000 per person.
