Budget Giveback

Instead of punishing Agencies for giving back money at the end of the budget year, reward them. Currently, there is no incentive for an Agency to give money back at the end of the year. Every year there is a mass spending (a lot of times on items that are not currently needed) just so we don't give money back. This is done because currently if you do give money back then the next year's budget is almost always cut ...more »

End "spend or lose" budgets - Save BILLIONS

Every end of the fiscal year, federal agencies rush to spend any leftover money to ensure they at least have the same budget the next year. Basically, there is a strong incentive to spend as much money as possible, resulting in terribly wasteful spending. I propose several measures be implemented to incentivize saving budget money: 1. Make sure that any established ceiling is not lowered simply due to a lack of spending. ...more »

UNEMPLOYMENT = COMMUNITY SERVICE

If we are going to pay people who are unemployed, why don't we get some work out of them!? If nothing else, maybe there can be a minimum amount of community service required to collect these benifits! Just think of all the community projects that could be accomplished by all these millions of people! They would still have more than enough time to search for new jobs, and it might even incintivise some of the people that ...more »

Stop helping everyone else and help OURSELVES!!

The US is willing to spend our hard earned tax dollars helping other countries that don't even want to help themselves. It's time to stop paying foreign aid and save that money until we can turn our debt around. Once we get our debt under control we can revisit the idea of wasting our money on other countries.

Make English the National or Official Language of the US

Too much money is being wasted on dual/multiple language answering machines, printing, etc. Some commercial establishments are going to the point of having 10-13 languages on printed things. The government cannot afford the cost or lack of efficiency. It is time to make English the national language and the ability to speak and understand English at at least an 8th grade level should be a citizenship requirement. ...more »

Make USPS Shipping a Mandatory Option in Fed Gov't Facilities

USPS Priority and Express Mail are very cost effective and dependable shipping solutions. Yet, USPS is not even available as a shipping option in some federal government facilities. USPS shipping supplies and training should be available to anyone military or civil servant. Granted, not everything can be shipped using USPS, but it should be the preferable option when and where it's most cost effective. It will not ...more »

END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP!!

This is an idea from the 1800s that anyone born on United States soil is automatically a citizen. Other countries do not do this! You have to be born of a citizen to be a citizen. I think ending this practice will basically solve one of the biggest immigration issues we have. The practice of illegal imigrant coming here to have children (aka anchor babies) so that they can stay in this country. Just something to think ...more »

End of year spending

Let's stop the end of year spending free-for-all. Reward agencies who return funds leftover at the end of the fiscal year. But donot punish these agencies by reducing allocations for the new fiscal year.

One Security Clearance to Cover all Agencies

My idea is to have one security clearance, or background check to cover all, or at least most agencies. For example right now a person can already have a Top-Secret clearance with the Department of Defense, and they would have to start a background investigation all over again if they were to apply with another agency, even if it’s only for a Secret clearance. They would have to fill out the same SF-86, the same eQip ...more »

Government Overspending

The US Governemnt pays top dollar on everything that they purchase. WHY!? We buy most things in bulk and you would think that we would get it for a cheaper price but we don't. Stop the useless overspending. I am an aircraft mechanic for the DoD and US Air Force Reserves. when we pay $250,000.00 for a winch it's getting a little ridiculous or $70,000.00 for a windshield, or even $5.00 bot a 10 cent bolt. Needless to say ...more »

Include "Bottom-Up" Input into Manager and Supervisor Reviews

Include subordinate employees' ratings of supervisors and managers yearly reviews. Even if this accounts for %1 of %100, it will provide insight to that manager or supervisor's capabilities.
