RETIREMENT

I WOULD LIKE FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO GIVE ME MY RETIREMENT IN FULL WHEN I RETIRE AND IF I DIE BEFORE MY RETIREMENT FUNDS RUN OUT THEN THEY WILL BE ENTITLED TO HAVE THE REMAINING FUNDS AND OR ASSETS TO BALANCE THOSE ENTITLEMENTS. HOW MANY YEARS OF RETIREMENT FUNDS THAT I WOULD RECEIVE IN A LUMP SUM WOULD BE DETERMINED BY MY EXPECTED YEARS OF LIFE THAT I HAVE REMAINING.

Summer Internship for Flight Data work ATC

Flight Data Clearance Delivery should become a summer job for CTI students who are looking to gain some experience in ATC. They would be hired during the summer and perform Flight Data and Clearance Delivery duties. At New York TRACON this would keep experienced CPC’s working radar and would save OT during the summer months. The paid internship could become an unpaid internship for school credit if it could be worked ...more »

SAFETY Engineers Needed

To ensure safety requires the appropriate skill sets. Air Traffic Safety Oversight is managed by current and formal Air Traffic Safety Controllers. DOT has a mandated requirement to managed safety, however, they do not have a good core of qualified Safety Engineers, which is a skill required to independently validate and verify safety. Engineering is a profession that seemed to lack value from an educational and skill ...more »

Change Electricity Providers

I live in a state that allows us to select an electrical power generator outside state boundaries. Our local company maintains the power lines and does the billing, but we actually buy our electricity from a generator several states away and it costs about 30% less. Why can't my office do the same thing?

Fee for paper processing of required reporting

Currently the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requires railroads to report safety data. Much of this information is still submitted in paper form, even though the mechanism exists for electronic submittal. But the government just allows this. Furthermore, we pay contractors to process the paper forms into electronic forms for storage in our database. There is no need for this expensive step when the capability ...more »

employee physicals

When an employee is required to get a physical for their job, use the employees federal health insurance to pay for it. Then have the agency pick up the copay or remainder that is not covered. The government pays twice for employee physicals. Paying for physical & helath benefits too. DOT is not the only agency that requires employee physicals.

DOT-In-Person Distro of Transit Passes

Every month a DOT representative is sent to the Atlanta Sam Nunn Federal Building with the sole purpose of personally handing me and numerous others our monthly transit passes. This practice is also conducted in other Atlanta locations and in other states. This practice could be eliminated by delegating this authority to someone in the financial divisions of the local departments/agencies.

Close King Salmon Air Traffic Control Tower

King Salmon, AK has a population of 442. A town of this size does not need an Air Traffic Control Tower. King Salmon Air Traffic Control Tower is a remnant of the Cold War era Air Force Station. The Air Force Station has been mothballed for several years. By FAA standards the operations count at King Salmon Air Traffic Control Tower does not justify it's continued operation.
