Tax Fraud

I work for the IRS. Every day I see accounts that, because of my training, I can easily see are involved in fraud. I also get taxpayers & preparers who admit to me over the phone that the SSN they are using was bought, stolen, etc. You think there would be a way for me to report this to someone in my agency, wouldn't you? You would be wrong. I have been told that I can submit a 3949-A, an Information Referral form, ...more »

Stop Paying Twice for Windows

We buy computers from Dell. Each computer comes with a license from Microsoft. (Sticker with license key) We then buy an Enterprise license to install Windows (any version) on that computer. Dell sells computers without Windows. We can buy our computers without Microsoft licenses, and then install our Enterprise software. (Volume Licensing) We never use the preinstalled version, and we never use the license key we pay ...more »

Flat Tax and Reduce the IRS

Create a flat tax for everyone with no loop holes, exemptions, or tax breaks.

Reduce the size of the IRS by at least one half of current staffing, associated offices, and vehicles.

This would create a vast resource of monies for government and remove the associated bureaucracies that weigh this great nation down. It would be a very positive step in getting our nation out of the massive debt crisis.

Ask callers if we can send documents/brochures electronically

When we receive calls via the toll free number or at an SSA office, we send out a paper letter, reminding them of their appointment time if they made an appointment. In other instances, we send out big paper booklets providing information with close out letters. Why not ask the caller to provide an email address as an alternative, and they can receive the information via email instead? We can save on mailing costs and ...more »

Change the tax code and laws!!!!!

Right now in the US we all are taxed based on our income. As we can see this does not work because half the people who pay into taxes get refunds and end up paying nothing in, and those who are at the top of the ladder end up having so many deductions they can do they end up paying nothing as well. Not forgetting there are also people who just do not report taxes at all. I ask that we change or tax code up from one ...more »

Skill Database for Agencies

My idea is to create an Government skill and/or Project database for use for internal agencey projects. What problem are you trying to solve? At any given moment each agency has over a hundred individual internal projects going on. To get these completed in most cases offices solely use talent within their office. I propose that we create either a talent pool database that associates skills with each divisions employee ...more »

Consolidate DHS Seized Property Operations

Currently; Border Patrol, CBP, FPS, ICE, TSA and the US Coast Guard have their own facilities, policy, processes, and specialist personnel to handle seized property and contraband. By consolidating all of these facilities and processes into one DHS seized property system, cost savings and efficiency will occur. Why does ICE need a seized property vault in the same geographical location as CBP? Consolidate these facilities ...more »

Pass HR 50 - Fair Tax Act

The Fair Tax replaces all federal, Social Security, and Medicare taxes from your check and replaces it with a consumption tax of 17%... it then gives you a monthly credit for taxes on food (based on family size and location). It then brings taxation to those who choose to opt out of the taxes (illegal’s, cash services, etc..) thus overall increasing the amount of taxes to pay this debt WE have without unfairly burdening ...more »

Stop Tax incentives for Big Profitable Corporate Business!

Seriously, GE,Fed Ex, Verizon...they all get PAID by us [taxpayers] in the form of Tax incentives-supposidly for job creation etc. But who are we fooling? Do they create any more jobs after the first few years? It's pure profit to the company. Take away the tax breaks or at LEAST restore the laws to close the loop-holes so obviously being corrupted.

IRS / Flat Tax

Dismantle the IRS, impose a flat tax; shrinks the size of the Federal Government, simplifies the tax code, saves unfathomable amounts of paper (goes green), saves taxpayers countless hours of frustration and wasted time, saves money, increases tax revenues. This historic change would be lauded for decades. Stand up against the lobbyists that would try to block this historic and transformation advance.

Federal Employee Video Testimony

Routinely the DOJ and US Attorneys Office will subpoena Federal employees to testify in cases outside of the employee's geographical work area. These cases can often be cross country in nature as currently my office on the West Coast is working to find funding to send an employee to the East Coast for under one hour of general background testimony. A cross country flight and hotel for less than one hour of general testimony. ...more »

Training

I was an instructor for the IRS last year. I was given an electronic course to "teach" on Identity Theft. I think we would all agree this is an important subject. I was allowed one hour for my students to work through an online course. The hour was not even enough time for them to read the material. It's no wonder these victims feel that we have no idea how to help them. It's because our employees are poorly prepared. ...more »

Mandate Deliquent Federal Tax Pymts as Condition of Employment

"Nearly 100,00 federal civilian employees owed $1 billion in unpaid federal income taxes in 2009, according to the IRS. The number of delinquent federal employees has remained consistent since 2004, but the amount owed has soared nearly 70 percent from $600 million to $1 billion." While the The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has passed a bill, why wait for it to be further voted on? Why not have the ...more »
