SSA is building a new site, from scratch for about $50 million dollars. It would be cheaper and faster to take one of the vacant buildings in this Baltimore area, gut it, update the electronic and safety features and put that building into the system for our use and have space to house all of our departments rather than lease out buildings, eliminating scattered campuses all over the area. It would also end the need for shuttle services to all the outlying buildings in the Baltimore Headquarters service area, reduce the need for vehicles, fuel consumption, maintenance, contract drivers and insurance costs in the Headquarters area.
