Video Conferencing for Appellate Oral Argument

Travel costs associated with oral argument for appellate cases is quite expensive. There are airline, hotel, and per diem costs for the judges, their law clerks/staff, government attorneys, and appointed counsel. In addition, significant travel time decreases productivity of the government employees.

The use of video tele-conferencing for oral argument would save significant money in travel costs and productivity, while still allowing the appellate judges to hear arguments relating to cases.
