I went to school at U of H in Houston. As a student, I had to complete several interships at local agencies. Not only is it good experience for the intern, but the company (SSA) doesn't have to pay out any salaries or benefits. Utilizing college level interns would not only free up CR's and SR's to do more complex duties, but the agency would save on hiring and long periods of training for new employees. How to utilize the students could be easily distributed and each office could provide specialized training to their particular office needs and proceedures. I would even be glad to volunteer to do the supervision for the students.
