"Oh you work for the government, well that's a safe job..." "Oh well at least you can't get fired..." How many times have you heard people say things like that? It's true though, isn't it? As a proud Federal Government employee, it seems that some people treat their public job as a right as opposed to a privilege. Public employees need to be held to higher standards. In today's age, the government simply cannot afford people who don't contribute. The government shouldn't be thought of as a "safe" place to work, it should be thought of as a competitive, challenging place to work.
Note this applies to all agencies; my agency didn't appear on the drop-down list, but I thought OMB was a good place for it.
