In my office the default setting for printing paper is to print single sided. It is rarely necessary to print material on only one side of a page. Each time I print material (pleadings, court cases, memos, etc.) I change the default setting to print double sided. If the IT staff re-set the default setting for all printers to double sided, I would expect most employees to use that setting, cutting paper usage in half. I would expect that this single IT change could be applied across the Department of Justice (indeed, across the Executive Branch), saving an enormous amount of paper.
