Language Line

Currently there are many FEMA agents fluent in a second language, especially Spanish. While others of us are only English speaking. Our Spanish speakers are regularly skilled to English speaking lines while those who are only English speaking are skilled to Spanish speaking lines. This requires us to contact the language line up to 30 times a day to complete our job and spend an extra $200/ call to help that applicant. While someone who could do both jobs is sitting there speaking their second language. We could save tens of thousands of dollars a day, since there are multiple agents having to do this every day, by having Spanish speaking agents skilled to the Spanish speaking lines so we would not have to utilize the language line nearly as often.
