FDA Investigators (CSOs) in each district office are assigned inspections within their office's area of jurisdiction. Numbers of inspectlons to fulfill work plans set by congress could be more easily met/or exceeded and the cost of resources (gas, vehicle upkeep, CSO driving hours per inspectlon) reduced If inspections were assigned with consideration given to: 1) hours spent driving to/from the office to pick up/return a government vehicle and 2) tne investigators residence. Rather than 1 investigator traveling 1-2 hours to the city a co-worker lives in to conduct an inspection and the second investigator traveling to the city the first lives in. Why not assign inspections considering tne time that could be saved. This equals less time/davs per inspection and less overtime.
