We need to improve how we manage poor performers. Policies should be in place (just like corporate America structures) to manage poor performers to either work with the employees to bring them to an acceptable working level (in a reasonable timeframe) or be terminated from employment if the employee cannot demonstrate improvement and perform at an acceptable level. Poor performers should not receive any promotions, step increases, bonusues, raises of any kind. Poor performers should not be passed from department to department.
