Change Hiring Procedures to Help Streamline Process & Save Money

Since the Federal Government is cutting back on hiring and generally not replacing employees who leave, remaining staff can be overworked and stressed. One way to relieve this might be to allow supervisors to have a quick alternative to replace a staff member who has left, rather than going through the months-long hiring process. If a person has worked as an assistant or backup to someone, and has extensive experience in that area, the supervisor could submit a request asking for that person to be approved to fill that position. This would reduce staff time in evaluating potential candidates, and allow the office workflow to run more smoothly.
